Number Eight

I was on the 83 Trench towards Richmond Hill Center. It was not my first time seeing this bus driver but on this particular day he decided to make conversation with me. It was an enlightening conversation and a couple of things were discussed, which I won't go into detail because I don't feel like rehashing it here. This bus driver was a teacher back in Italy, a very knowledgeable man in the ways of the world. In a discussion about immigrants to Canada he made a statement about Canada and stressed to never forget it.

Canada is...
a land of gold,
a graveyard for artists,
and glory for ignorance.

wow, that's so true and thus also very tragic.
